Welcome to Greene Adventures!

Welcome to Greene Adventures!

Those who know us (and I presume most of you do) may think that as overexposed as we are on Twitter (@ColleenRobledo and @JTGoirish) and Facebook (www.facebook.com/ColleenGreene and www.facebook.com/JeffreyTGreene) and on our food blog (www.thetasteplace.com) and Colleen’s tech/professional blog (www.colleenscommentary.net), that we can’t possibly need another place to tell you about what we’re up to.  And you may be right.  But this is primarily for family and friends that we want to share our stories and pictures with in a more in-depth way than we can in a 140 character Tweet or a Facebook status update.

And for those less close to us who might be interested in something you saw us post about through one of the other social media outlets, we plan to have fairly in depth reviews and analysis and stories from hikes, camping, road trips, vacations, festivals and other activities that we participate in that might actually be of value to you.  And since I tend to over-think things, and Colleen tends to over-document things, and we both love to share our experiences (good and bad) with others, I’m hoping we can help you determine whether things are worth the effort (e.g. Stagecoach Festival, Chino Hills State Park in Spring) or not (e.g. Long Beach Bayou Festival, Chino Hills State Park in Summer).

We’ve got a backlog of trips we will try to catch up with on here as we start this blog up, and we have several trips and hikes coming up in the near future we will cover as well, but our biggest and most significant adventure begins one month from today, when Colleen and I get married!

We’ve known each other for almost 20 years, since our radical and rowdy college days, but after losing track of each other for 13 years or so, we reconnected on Facebook and are now getting married exactly one year to the day from our first “official” date.  I’m quite certain we (and possibly the kids) will have some thoughts on the planning of the wedding and the honeymoon (Canadian Rockies–Woohoo!!!) and moving in together and all those other sorts of things as we start our lives together.

We also hope to drag our parents into this and convince them to blog, as my dad and Linda enjoy retirement in their 32 foot sailboat and 23 foot camper trailer and Colleen’s parents check out their various timeshares and try to help raise their grandkids. We’ve also linked to my brother’s family’s blog “A Wee Bit of Greene”, on the right side of the page, where they are currently writing about the trip to Scotland they are on right now.

So we’ll try to be interesting enough to make it worth checking back here, and if you’ve got ideas on places we should go or things we should do, we’d love to hear them!

Great website! I would start one for myself, but I’m not sure anyone would be interested in me constantly blogging about my d-o-g. See you both soon!
